You can do a variety of processing like After Effects. but, you can do most of the operations with after Effects, You may work with After Effects to the end without using Premiere.
If there is no composite processing, You might do edit work with only Premiere.
Personally, I import image data to AfterEffects and perform an editorial operation. and output serial numbers of still images, and import them into Premiere, and do the authoring process.
